Here is a basic explanation of our build methods.

Speed Strip was designed by Farrow&Chambers to overcome the problems of both square edged and concave-convex planks. The strip utilises a simple rounded tongue and groove centred on the plank so it can be used either way round, the system negates the need for edge fastening and produces a "fairer" shape, frames or mould frames can be wider spaced and build times reduced.

Once the frames are laminated they are set up on legs

Then the speed strip is glued on with epoxy adhesive and fastened with stainless steel nails

When the strip is finished it is sanded then two layers of veneer are glued on using a vacuum pump

Finally the paint finish is applied

Then it is sheathed with a layer of twill glass cloth
